Contracted to do some Root Cause Analysis at a medical company experiencing scrap rates above what’s acceptable.
Ran several tests and measured the machines mechanical parts after learning their current process to study the machines behavior.
The problem was identified in less than 3 hours. Submitted a RCCA (Root Cause and Corrective Action) report to the manufacturer. Performed a Gage R&R to prove the diagnosis, collaborated with the machine manufacturer,and got to work redesigning replacement hardware to have superior performance under these operating condition.
The designs were created in ProEngineer Creo VS 4. All detail part prints were created following ANSI y14.5 standards complete with GD&T.
We also machined and precision ground these high precision parts in house.
